Golf: Putting Skills
Ches Harris
Instructor Ches Harris discusses putting skills in this golf video series. First focusing on the short putt of 5 feet or less, Harris takes us through drills for straight putts, then some of the more challenging short putts. While golf would be an easier sport if putts were never more than 5 feet, that's not the case, so Coach moves us through the paces of lag putting continuing to work on challenging shots and given tips on club selection.

In this segment, Coach Harris explains and demonstrates two putting drills working primarily on a straight putt of 5 feet or less. The Ladder Drill and the Three Ball Drill are set up with 5 tees placed a foot apart, progressively further from the hole. These golf drills allow a player to mark progress in putting skills and provide a tangible goal as skills improve. |

The "Around the World" is another short putting drill, but the putt is no longer straight. Tees are placed to allow practice in various putting situations such as uphill breaking left to right or breaking left to right but downhill. This putting drill is also an exercise in reading the green as Coach discusses in this video segment. |
